There are two key elements to an effective resume 1) They need to have meaningful content using strategic keywords and; 2) They need to look good.  When you have these two elements working for you in your resume, your job application to interview ratio has nowhere to go but up. 

 

Our first goal at CV Boss is to develop resumes that are more than a laundry list of job duties and competencies, we create documents that tell your unique story with a focal point on achievements and metrics. We provide initial consultations free of charge to assess your resume and determine the direction needed.  If you decide you would like CV Boss to develop your resume, we will provide:

 

• A full and comprehensive resume review prior to your consultation;

• A one-hour one-on-one consultation over the phone or in person to discuss your resume, background, and future career goals in order to develop a highly customized resume;

• Feedback phone sessions as required;

• Revisions for two weeks after completion of documents and;

• Career guidance throughout the entire writing process.

Cover Letter Development

 

Some will argue that recruiters rarely read your cover letter but we strongly disagree.  Current trends in recruitment are indicating that the cover letter may be more important than the resume itself!  At CV Boss, we believe the cover letter is your opportunity to let your personality shine.  We will develop you a targeted cover letter that will showcase your skill sets, talk about your career aspirations and most importantly sell you as the best candidate for the position.  We do not create generic documents.  Our philosophy is this:  If you really want to show a recruiter that you have a strong work ethic and you care about the quality of work you produce, it starts with your application!  Our cover letter service includes formatting, editing and making sure that important keywords from the job description are in the document.

Interview Coaching

 

CV Boss believes the biggest mistake you can make going into an interview is going unprepared.  Don't Wing It!

 

The best way to harness that nervous energy is to know that you've done your research and know how you're the best fit for the position.  Our Interview coaching is aimed at giving you the confidence you need to nail it!  There is no better feeling than attending an interview and walking out knowing you couldn't have done better.  That feeling starts here...

 

Our interview coaching service consists of 2 one-hour sessions.  The preparation meeting and the mock interview.   

 

The Preparation Meeting:  This is where we will get you ready to handle various scenarios and ensure you go into your interview fully prepared.  We will discuss:

 

• How to handle phone interviews, one-on-ones, group, and panel interviews;

• The formula to answering behavioral-based questions;

• Conducting research on the employer and developing your own questions;

• How to handle the dreaded "salary expectation" question;

• Common pitfalls to avoid;

• Finer details such as body language, appropriate attire and interview etiquette.

 

The Mock Interview:  This is it!  This is where you can work out the kinks.  CV Boss will develop and conduct a practice interview for your upcoming meeting.  We will provide you feedback and guidance for the big day.
